Kamala Das's poetry is characterized by the presence of Stark images that challenge many conventions generally considered to be part of "Indian life".Then she contrasts the speech with the deaf and blind speech of trees in storm or of monsoon clouds or of rain or the incoherent mutterings of the blazing funeral pyre here she gives a number of images and they are all incoherent. The images are also taken from nature .To Kamala Das that much of nature is incoherent but hard language is not like that Her language is coherent.

"Don't play pretending games. don't play at schizophrenia or be a nymphp.don't cry embrassingly  loud when jilted in love"

-Explain this line based on An Introduction by kamala Das.

Here Kamala Das said to the women that don't play pretending games and  don't act like schizophrenia or don't approach the act which is characterized by inconsistent or contradictory elements. And don't be like nympho and also said for the women that don't cry loud when you are betrayed in love from someone. Here she wants to said that the women's life style should be that kind what stereotyped society designed.

"I met a man, loved him. call him not by any name, he is every man who wants a women ,just as I am every woman who seeks love. in him. . .the Hungry haste of rivers, in me . . .the oceans tireless waiting "

-Explain this line based on An Introduction by Kamala Das

Kamala Das once met a man and fall in love with him and then she realize that every man who wants a women as in this society "female mind is less important female body".But she seeks unconditional love and the man she met and fall in love , in him just 'the hungry haste of rivers, 'but in her 'the occeans' tireless waiting'.

"Who are you I ask each and everyone, the answer is ,it is I .anywhere and everywhere, I see the one who calls himself I; in this world, he is tightly packed like the sword in its sheath"

-Explain this line based on An Introduction by Kamala Das.

In the last section very common thing is I .The trajectory of the poem is self -realization. Kamala Das asks each and everyone that 'who are you' and they all replied that 'it is I'. She saw that all the human being introduced themselves with the word "I".Every women and men both are replied that it is I, anywhere and everywhere the answer is I. So " I" is a common word to introduce a man or women. And the poet present to the readers the male ego of patriarchal society wheather death subdue the futility of male ego.In this world the man who is tightly packed like the sword in his sheath means the man who is tightly packed with his patriarchal ego he also said that 'it is I'.

"it is I I who drink lonely drinks at  twelve, midnight in hotels of strange towns , it is I who laugh, it is I who make love and then, feel shame, it is I feel lie dying with a rattle in my throat .I am sinner, I am saint.I am the beloved And The Betrayed.  I have no joys which are not yours , no Aches which are not yours. I too call myself I"

-Explain this line based on An Introduction by kamala Das.

As we see in previous lines that kamala Das asked each and everyone that "who are you" and they replied that it is "I".

So in this lines Kamala Das said that who drink lonely and drinks at twelve he/she introduced themselves by the word "I".she also represents that "it is I who laugh, it is I who make love and then, feel shame".In the last section very common thing is " I".The "I" has to be realized. Actually here individual is participating in the eternal.

In the poem kamala Das shows that in the world there is no difference between man and women means self. There is two self one is "egotistical self" and another is "cosmological self", but in this poem kamala Das surrendered her "egoistical self" or " Finite self" By saying 'I too call myself I'
